The ASA have awarded Active Luton and Luton Diving Club with a plaque to celebrate our status as a Beacon Hub.

We have been running as a Beacon Programme for a year now where we have assisted smaller clubs around us by offering training space through the week and running Beacon Squad sessions.

The mains aims of the Beacon Programme include increasing participation, performance and coach development. The latter two are helped through Beacon squad sessions and Beacon Camps which you may have seen at the pool on Sundays.

We had a very successful 2014; the Beacon squad gained 5 Golds 4 Silvers and 5 Bronze medals at the National Age Groups. We have divers from Amersham, Dacorum, Beaumont and Luton (Henry Biggs, Grace Kouset and Katherine Kerr) make up the team. We hope many of this squad will go on to compete at the next level, in the Junior Elite Championships this year.

Beacon performance aims include having divers make a top 6 at Junior Elites, and making selection onto English Programme squads through Junior Elites and TID Games.

We wish all our divers at LDC every success in the new year to keep pushing our club forward and achieving new goals.
